Maryland State Senator Justin Ready posted a series of messages on his Twitter account in early April 2026, addressing topics ranging from Easter celebrations to U.S. rescue operations and state tax policy.
On April 5, 2026, Ready marked the Easter holiday with a message: “Happy Resurrection Day – Easter Sunday – the best news in history!”
Later that day, he commented on U.S. rescue efforts abroad, stating: “On Easter weekend, we left the “99” to rescue the one who was lost – and it succeeded! Yes, we in the U.S. do put other personnel at jeopardy to rescue one who is lost. We leave no one behind! “ This remark references a common phrase used to describe American military or diplomatic missions aimed at recovering citizens or personnel.
On April 7, 2026, Ready addressed online discussion about Maryland’s Paint Tax: “I see the Paint Tax is getting a lot of attention online now – it passed two years ago – here’s more background -> https://t.co/5R1qypiXfY” The Paint Stewardship Program—commonly referred to as the “Paint Tax”—was enacted by Maryland lawmakers in 2024. The program requires paint manufacturers to fund recycling and proper disposal of leftover paint through fees collected at point of sale. The initiative aims to reduce environmental impact by promoting responsible management of paint waste.
Senator Justin Ready represents District 5 in Carroll and Frederick Counties in Maryland and has served in the Maryland General Assembly since 2011.
