Maryland State Senator Justin Ready commented on recent political and media developments in a series of posts on his social media account between January 8 and January 9, 2026.

On January 8, Ready acknowledged the passing of Michael Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan. He expressed appreciation for Reagan’s contributions to conservative advocacy and thanked a major news outlet for its coverage: “RIP Michael Reagan, thank you for your advocacy on behalf of conservative movement and your father’s legacy for so many years. Thank you @CBSNews for covering his passing.”

Later that day, Ready addressed concerns about media bias in coverage of political issues. He wrote: “It really IS a huge problem. And there’s a bit of both sides but the legacy media picks up the one side HARD and usually ignores or ‘conspiracy theorists say’ the other side. Hoping that is starting to change.”

On January 9, Ready discussed the responsibilities of elected officials when speaking about federal law enforcement agencies. He stated: “Until we can stop having elected officials saying the underlying mission of a statutorily created law enforcement/national security federal agency is not safety we are going to continue seeing violence grow. Of course their goal is safety for our nation! You can disagree with”

Michael Reagan was known as an advocate within conservative circles and as someone who worked to uphold his father’s political legacy.
