Justin Ready, a Maryland State Senator, posted several tweets in early January 2026 commenting on national media, legislative planning, and educational discipline practices.

On January 1, 2026, Ready commented on the CBS Evening News: “Sounds great! Let’s see how it goes. @CBSEveningNews has been bastion of establishment DC/NY liberal conventional wisdom since at least Dan Rather hosted. Overdue for a refreshing change.”

Later that day, he shared an update about his preparations for the upcoming legislative session: “Just planning and getting ready for the year ahead…2026 Session is just around the corner…”

On January 3, 2026, Ready addressed school disciplinary approaches: “This needs to be shared far and wide – we don’t need restorative circles where the perpetrator of bad behavior and bullying is put on essentially equal footing with his victim student and/or the adults!”

Ready serves as a Republican member of the Maryland Senate representing District 5. He has been active in state politics since first being elected to the House of Delegates in 2010 before moving to the Senate in 2015.
