CITY OF ANNAPOLIS: Memorial Day 5/28 - City Services Schedule, Offices Closed & Parade Info

City of Annapolis, Maryland issued the following announcement on May 24.

Memorial Day: City Services Schedule, Offices Closed & Parade Info Annapolis, MD (5-23-18) – In honor of Memorial Day on Monday, May 28, City of Annapolis government offices will be closed. Refuse and recycling will be affected on BOTH Monday and Tuesday, May 28 and 29, by moving the normal collection day back to the next day. If Monday is your normal collection day, service will occur on Tuesday. Tuesday's collections will occur on Wednesday. Regular refuse and recycling will resume on Thursday, May 31. Please note, there will be no yard waste or bulk item collection on Wednesday, May 30.

On Memorial Day, Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. For more information on the Sunday schedule, click here.

In addition, the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 28, beginning at 10 a.m.The parade follows the traditional route along West Street, traveling around Church Circle, down Main Street, and ending at City Dock. Marching bands, as well as veteran, community, and patriotic organizations will be part of the parade honoring and remembering those who have died serving our country. Immediately following the parade, Mayor Gavin Buckley and several service organizations will participate in the annual wreath laying ceremony at Susan Campbell Park. This ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome. For more information about the parade, call 410-263-7996.
