City of Annapolis Planning Commission met April 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

The Planning Commission (PC) of the City of Annapolis held its regularly scheduled meeting on April 5, 2018 in

City Council Chambers. Chair Waldman called the meeting to order at 7:08p.m.

Commissioners Present: Chair Robert Waldman, David DiQuinzio, William Herald, David Iams

Commissioners Absent: Vice Chair Ben Sale, George Matthews

Staff Present: Pete Gutwald-Director, Tom Smith, Dr. Sally Nash, Kevin Scott

C. NEW BUSINESS

There was none.

D. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

Mr. Herald moved to revise the agenda to remove the approval of minutes. Mr. Iams seconded the motion. Passed 4-0.

E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

1. March 1, 2018 Meeting Minutes

The March 1, 2018 meeting minutes were removed from the agenda.

F. PUBLIC HEARING

1. Don and Kate King Residential Neighborhood Conservation, #RNC2018-005

Mr. Scott described the residential neighborhood conservation request by Don and Kate King on property located at 414 First Street in order to renovate and add to the property. The proposal includes removal of the existing deck, front porch replacement, construction of an addition and a screened porch. He explained that the Planning Commission is required to review and approve the proposal because the floor area is greater than 3,250 square feet.

Mr. Garza assisted the applicants in preparing the design and briefly described the interior as well as exterior improvements.

Public testimony opened at 7:15pm and no one from the public spoke on the application so Chair Waldman declared the public testimony closed at 7:16 pm.

Voting

Mr. Iams moved to approve the application by Don and Kate King as presented. Mr. Herald seconded the motion. Passed 4-0.

F. MISCELLANY

There was none.

G. ADJOURNMENT

With there being no further business, Mr. Herald moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:25pm and the PC entered into a work session to discuss the Forest Drive/Eastport Sector Study. Mr. Iams seconded the motion. Passed 4-0.
