Anne Arundel County issued the following announcement on July 27.

Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh today announced that the County has implemented a streamlined, automated grants management process.

“I am committed to bringing better efficiency to country government and increasing grant opportunities to fund county programs and services,” said Schuh. "This new system will allow us to accomplish those goals."

One hundred and fifty grant liaisons and grant managers in every department in the County have completed training in eCivis grants management solutions, a fully integrated grant research and application preparation program. The launch will help ensure a more efficient use of taxpayer dollars and better financial management across all County departments.

In the last year, Anne Arundel County Departments received more than $48 million in operating funding from federal, state, local and foundation sources. The new system will help eliminate red tape, and ultimately allow employees to spend more time on programs and services needed by County residents.

The Go–Live Implementation Team earned special recognition for implementing the system in 14 weeks, a feat that has taken other entities over a year. Future modules of eCivis will offer grants management online solutions to nonprofits in the community who receive funds from the county.
