13 percent of applicants to Johns Hopkins University were admitted for fall 2017

At Johns Hopkins University, 95 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Baltimore enrolled 25,151 students in fall 2017, including 6,109 in undergraduate and 19,042 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

8 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 80 percent are residents of other states. 9 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (35 percent) and Asian (25 percent).

The school admitted 13 percent of the 27,156 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 42 percent enrolled.
