Maryland Health Benefit Exchange spent $522,651,786 since 2012

Maryland Health Benefit Exchange reported spending $97,187,910 - 964 percent - more in 2017 than it did six years ago, according to a Anne Arundel Today analysis of state purchasing records.

The Department of Budget and Management publishes all payments made by public agencies in each fiscal year, with data available for fiscal years 2008 through 2017. Vendors include private businesses, local governments, non-profit organizations, and individuals.

Maryland Health Benefit Exchange reported 326 purchases in the last six years, with total purchases totaling $522,651,786.
