Anne Arundel County issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
The Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management is sponsoring a live, full scale emergency exercise at Anne Arundel Community College on October 10, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The exercise will simulate an emergency incident at Anne Arundel Community College in order to provide the County an opportunity to assess their capabilities, with a focus on coordination of decision making, information sharing, and resource management among the participating agencies.
Agencies participating in this exercise are the Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management, Anne Arundel County Department of Health, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office, the Anne Arundel Community College Department of Public Safety and Police, the Anne Arundel Community College Central Services, and volunteers from the Anne Arundel Annapolis Community Emergency Response Team, Maryland Responds, and the Anne Arundel Amateur Emergency Radio Service.
The exercise will include fire and police first responder units, so visitors to the college may see fire engines and trucks, police vehicles, and other emergency vehicles on the campus, especially near the college Central Services Building.
