Anne Arundel County issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Dwelling Fire- South Glen Burnie
On October 22nd at 3:33 a.m. firefighters responded to the report of a building fire in the area of the Doll Apartments, located in the 1400 block of Crain Highway South. Initial calls to 9-1-1 reported a fire in the apartment building. However, first arriving firefighters found fire from the rear of a two-story single family dwelling located at the back of the property. Thirty-two firefighters from Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes. Two adults are displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit and no dollar loss has been established. There were no injuries.
Dwelling Fire- Arnold
On October 22nd at 2:43 a.m. firefighters responded to a report of a dwelling fire in the unit block of Fox Run Way. Firefighters arrived to find fire from the front of a two-story, single family home. Firefighters reported that a fire in the front porch area of the home extended to the second floor and attic area. Thirty-nine firefighters from Anne Arundel County assisted by firefighters from the Annapolis Fire Department and the United States Naval Academy Fire Department brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Two adult occupants of the home have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no dollar loss has been established. There were no injuries.
Dwelling Fire- Severn
On October 20th at 10:28 p.m. firefighters were alerted to a possible house fire in the 8100 block of Quarterfield Road. Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the living room of the home which they quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation with damages estimated at $60,000 from fire damage in the living room and smoke damage throughout the home. The residents, two adults and a child, were not home at the time of the fire but have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
