Anne Arundel County Department of Health issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.

Due to concerns of Listeria contamination, a recall has been issued for Fresh Nectarines, which were sold at Maryland Walmart stores. According to the FDA, the fruit was sold as a bulk retail item with PLU sticker (PLU# 4044, 3035, 4378) and showed Chile as the country of origin. No illnesses have been reported, officials said.The nectarines were also sold in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Consumers who have purchased Fresh Nectarines, a Jac. Vandenberg, Inc. product, are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
