Anne Arundel Community College issued the following announcement on Jan. 14.
Congratulations to AACC employees, Carolyn Patton, Melissa Spurlock and Heather Rellihan, Ph.D., who will be honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Zeitgeist Award during the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast next week.
The breakfast will begin will run from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Live! Hotel in Hanover, 7002 Arundel Mills Circle. The breakfast is in the event space on the hotel side of the casino/hotel complex.
The event includes food, awards and a keynote speaker. This year’s keynote speaker is Elizabeth S. Morris, associate judge for the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. Morris is the only black judge on the Anne Arundel Circuit Court. She, alongside judges Pamela Alban and Rob Thompson, are up for reelection in 2020.
The memorial breakfast is one of two events honoring King. The other, dinner, will be held Friday.
