9 percent of applicants to the United States Naval Academy were admitted for fall 2018

At the United States Naval Academy, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 72 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Annapolis enrolled 4,512 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

7 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 91 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (63 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).

The school admitted 9 percent of the 16,086 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 87 percent enrolled.
