Cost of college went up for all students at Anne Arundel Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.3 percent for 2018-19 at Anne Arundel Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Maryland residents paid $7,880 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $174 more than the $7,706 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 61.7 percent more than residents this year, or $12,740. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 1.4 percent from $12,566 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Maryland residents. And about 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 43 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 428 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.8 million and 141 students took out student loans totaling more than $669,789.

Including all undergraduates (12,886), 3,954 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.3 million, and 1,257 students took out $6.1 million in federal student loans.
