FOIA Request to County of Anne Arundel (MD) regarding contingency fee contracts on June 18, 2025.

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the County of Anne Arundel, Maryland, by Anne Arundel Today, a local media organization. The request seeks access to records concerning contingency fee contracts under the Maryland Public Information Act Title 4. Specifically, the request asks for:

1. All contingency fee agreements between Anne Arundel County and any external attorneys or law firms that have been in effect during the last 12 months.

2. All engagement agreements or contracts between Anne Arundel County and Sher Edling LLP in effect during the last 12 months.

3. All engagement agreements or contracts between Anne Arundel County and Lewis Baach Kaufmann Middlemiss PLLC in effect during the last 12 months.

4. All engagement agreements or contracts between Anne Arundel County and Rex Sharp and/or Sharp Law LLP in effect during the last 12 months.

The request was made on behalf of both Anne Arundel Today and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency within governmental agencies through FOIA requests and similar measures.
