City of Annapolis Alcoholic Beverage Control Board met Jan. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board of the City of Annapolis was held on January 3, 2018 at 160 Duke of Gloucester Street. Chair Lawrence Harris called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Present: Chair Harris, Vice Chair Berman,

Members: James C. Praley and Matthew Zagwodzki

Staff: Acting City Attorney Elson and Deputy City Clerk Gaines

Vice Chair Berman moved to approve the Journal of Proceedings of December 6, 2017. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

•Upgrade- LAH Inc. t/a Loews Annapolis Hotel

Application has been made for upgrade of an existing alcoholic beverage license from a Class

E-1x.a.b. to a Class E-1x.a.b.g Refillable Container (Growlers) for the premises known as LAH Inc. t/a Loews Annapolis Hotel located at 126 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

Robert R. Smith, attorney for the applicants, representing Franch & Smith, P.A., 1125 West Street, Suite 200, Annapolis, Maryland 21401 gave a brief presentation.

David Merklingler, Director of Operations was present and answered questions addressed by the Board.

Licensees, Sheri Burton–Smith and George Cronk were not present.

Chair Harris entered into the record the following:

Exhibit #1: Pictures of Signage

Exhibit #2: Growlers Container with Mandatory Label Information

No one (else) from the general public spoke in favor of, or in opposition to the application.

Member Praley moved to approve the application for an upgrade of license to a Class

E-1x.a.b.g Refillable Container (Growlers) Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

Chair Harris declared the public hearing closed.

•Transfer- From Chick and Ruth’s Delly Inc. t/a Chick and Ruth’s Delly to CR Brands, LLC. t/a Chick and Ruth’s Delly

Application has been made for transfer of an alcoholic beverage license from Chick and Ruth’s Delly Inc. t/a Chick and Ruth’s Delly to CR Brands, LLC. t/a Chick and Ruth’s Delly.

Brian Lyman , attorney for the applicant, representing Hillman Brown & Darrow, P.A. 221 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401 gave a brief presentation.

Chair Harris entered the following into the record:

Exhibit #1: Letter dated December 21, 2017

Applicants Nancy Lemay,1871 Poplar Ridge Road, Pasadena, Maryland 21122, Keith W. Jones, 9504 Daniel Lewis Lane, Vienna, Virginia 22181 and Lisa F. Taylor, 12024 Wandabury Road, Oakton, Virginia 22124 were present and answered questions addressed by the Board.

No one (else) from the general public spoke in favor of, or in opposition to the application.

Member Zagwodzki moved to approve the transfer of application for a Class B-2 Beer & Light Wine contingent on the submission of the four documents as discussed in the meeting Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

Chair Harris declared the public hearing closed.

Upon motion duly made, seconded and adopted, the meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
