Fatal Crash                                                                                                    Glen Burnie

On June 11, 2018 at approximately 11:57 a.m. officers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on Crain Highway and 5th Avenue in Glen Burnie. Preliminary investigation showed a Honda Civic that was traveling southbound on Crain Highway made a left turn into the path of a Honda Accord that was traveling northbound on Crain Highway.  As a result, the two vehicles collided. The driver and front seat passenger of the Civic were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries; the rear passenger was transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious injuries.  The driver of the Accord was uninjured.

On June 18, 2018 traffic investigators were notified that the rear seat passenger succumbed to his injuries and had died from his injuries from the accident. The primary cause of this crash appears to be the Honda Civic driver failing to yield to the Honda Accord when making a left turn.  Speed and/or alcohol do not appear to have contributed to this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and any charges are pending review by the State’s Attorney’s Office.
