ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY: Department of Public Works Reports Wastewater Overflow In Curtis Bay Area

Anne Arundel County issued the following announcement on July 23.

Heavy rains and stormwater on Saturday caused a sanitary sewer overflow at the Cox Creek Water Reclamation Facility in the Curtis Bay area. 

An estimated 12,500 gallons of wastewater entered Cox Creek.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health has closed Cox Creek until July 29, 2018. 

People coming in contact with the closed area are advised to immediately wash well with soap and warm water. 

Clothing should also be washed.
